Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor

Yvonne Adhiambo Owuor is a writer from Kenya. Her debut novel Dust (Kwani 2014, Knopf, Granta 2015, dt. Der Ort, an dem die Reise endet, Dumont 2017) was received to global acclaim, and was shortlisted for both the Folio and FT/Oppenheimer Emerging Voices award, and won the TBC Jomo Kenyatta Prize for Literature, Kenya’s pre-eminent literary prize. From 2003 to 2005, she was the director of the International Film Festival in Zanzibar. Her new book, The Dragonfly Sea (Knopf 2019) already receiving rave reviews, is being released in March 2019. She is at present at the Wissenschaftskolleg zu Berlin working on her third novel.
