Tesia Kosmalski
Tesia Kosmalski is an artist located in Minneapolis, MN/USA. She has a BA in communication arts from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, a post-baccalaureate BS in visualization from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and a MFA in new media studies from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
Her projects have been featured in such places as Eyebeam Art & Technology Center in Brooklyn, New York, and the PD Gem Conference in Weimar, Germany. Most recently, her work appeared at TEDx Minneapolis – Reverb. The project »The Echo Coats« was also featured in Garments of Paradise, a summary of wearable technologies published by MIT Press.
She is also a digital user experience practitioner. Her work history includes designing interfaces for children’s books, art auction houses, and facilitating user-driven research sessions.
Tesia’s work positions narratives in nonlinear, speculative, or even wearable ways. She’s used everything from video to wearable technologies to explore the continuums of art to design, expression to communication, and narrative to storytelling.
