Susanna Flock

Vienna / Austria — Time-based Media, Solitude fellow 2017–2019

Susanna Flock graduated at the University of Art and Design Linz (2015) and at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (2017), Austria. In her works, she is exploring the relationship of the body to its technologically mediated environment and screen culture. Recently, she was awarded with the Viktor-Fogarassy-Price (2019), start-scholarship for media arts Austria (2018), with a fellowship at Academy Schloss Solitude (2018) and the Crossing Europe Innovative Award (2017).

The protagonists of Susanna Flock's latest video work »I don't exist yet« are different shaped, bright green, clumsy objects. The work looks in a strangely funny-uncomfortable way at stand-ins (placeholders) of computer animated characters – not yet digital bodies – their realities and substitute realities.
