Sandra Demetrescu
(born 1989) is a curator and art historian based in Bucharest.
She has curated various exhibitions in galleries and museums across Romania and has published in art catalogs and magazines.
Sandra studied art history and theory and photography and video at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, where she is currently studying for her MA degree (in the art history and theory Department), with research focused on the relation (amidst the discourses and theories about artistic practices, especially the »noetic turn«) between art and science.
She was an intern at institutions such as at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice, The Venice Biennale, and the Center for Arts and Media Karlsruhe (ZKM).
She is currently a curator at The National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC) in Bucharest.
This year, she has been working together with Dragos Olea under the moniker KILOBASE BUCHAREST for a series of exhibitions that debuted with Convulsion Ltd: Christian Paraschiv and Convulsion Ltd.: further thoughts from new associates.
