Michl Schmidt (born in 1973 in Rothenburg ob der Tauber/Germany) lives and works in Stuttgart. After an apprenticeship in stone masonry, he studied sculpture at the AdbK Nuremberg. His objects, installations, and performances have been shown at numerous exhibitions, including Versprechen, Verlesen, Veschreiben at the Gmünder Kunstverein; Vorschlag zur Rezeption at the Saarlandmuseum Saarbrücken; Raumproduktion at the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf; Kellerpalais at Akademie Schloss Solitude, Stuttgart; Territorien des In/Humanen at the Württenbergischer Kunstverein; Verteidigung des Normalzustands at AUT Innsbruck. Michl Schmidt lectured at the AdbK Nuremberg from 2006-2009. He was a fellow at Akademie Schloss Solitude in 2009/2010, at the Künsterldorf Schöppingen in 2011, and on »Platform 12« at Bosch Renningen/Neues Zentrum für Forschung und Vorausentwicklung in 2015.
