Gal Kirn
Berlin/Germany — Humanities, Solitude fellow 2013–2015
Gal Kirn studied political theory at the Faculty of Social Sciences der University of Ljubljana/Slovenia and political philosophy at the University of Nova Gorica, where he gained his Ph.D. in 2012. He is co-editor of Encountering Althusser, Bloomsbury (2013) and Yugoslav Black Wave Cinema and Its Transgressive Moments, Jan van Eyck Academie (2012), as well as editor of Postfordism and its discontents, Jan van Eyck Academie (2010). Currently he is based in Berlin and organizes the Re-Orient collective, as well as one part of the film festival GoEast! in Wiesbaden. In his hometown Ljubljana he is part oft he project Delavsko-punkerska univerza (Worker’s Punk University) and writes articles for the Slovenian weekly journal Objektiv.
