Florian Clewe
Berlin/Germany — Time-based Media, Solitude fellow 2015–2017
Florian Clewe fails at being a painter. Hence, he mainly works with photography, moving images and objects (which is a good thing, as he considers twists and awkwardness as material for and expansions of his practice). Passing through diverse realms of culture and knowledge, Florian Clewe’s works carry peculiar modes of presentification and perception: of living, technical, epistemological and mental objects and images and their apparent relations and differences. Thereby, they play on the tensions arising from the migration of the adopted objects, images, practices and problems into artistic forms and gestures.
