Elena was born in Zurich and grew up in a small Swiss village close to the Italian border. After completing her studies at Iwanson School for Contemporary Dance in Munich, Elena worked for numerous choreographers and theatremakers. Elenas choreographic work is dedicated to topics such as belonging and memory. Inspired by the complex facets of her roots, she uses body, space and other media to stage them in a narrative, abstract context, ever exploring unconventional settings. Elena lives in Zurich and is internationally active in the field of performing arts.
