Desiré Davids

South Africa — Performing Arts, Solitude fellow 2013–2015

Born in Paarl South Africa, she graduated from the University of Cape Town School of Dance and is an Internationally recognized contemporary dancer & choreographer. A citizen of the world and best known for her work with South African choreographer Boyzie Cekwana, she co-founded the company «Floating Outfit Project» a rootless entity based on cross cultural and border exchange. Her interest lies in collaborative work, building and cementing exchanges and opening avenues for deliberation & debates.

Desiré Davids, choreographer and dancer from South Africa, wanted to work with a classical music instrument. On arrival at Solitude, she sent out a mail to the musicians…
