Ana Mendes is a writer and visual artist living and working in Vienna, London and Berlin. She became a performer by accident when she wrote »Self-portrait,« a play on her identity. Ana studied Performance at Goldsmiths College, animation film at la Poudriére – École du Film d’Animation, in France, and Photography at Bauhaus University, Weimar, Germany. She develops cross-disciplinary projects, in which she uses sound, text, video, photography and performance in order to speak on language, identity and memory. Her work revolves around the idea of movement and ryhthm.
