Edward, consultant for sustainable development

SD: What comes to your mind if you think about the world of today?

E: I think I would answer this in two points. The first would be that we live in a great world. Why? Because when I look at the possibilities, technology, ITC, transformation, inventions, the way the medicines are able to correct problems, to solve, some problems that in the past few years we could not imagine that we have the capacity to solve, so to me it is a great world. But at the same time I can see how much we are limited in finding solutions to some of our key issues like immigration, development, we have such a huge quantity of wealth and yet we are facing sad abject poverty in some areas of the world, it’s difficult to understand how we can face these two faces that the world is showing us. My wish is that we can bridge, so that the huge wealth can help us eradicate poverty, so that the whole world enjoys that abundability [=abundance/ability] of (mutual) resources. That’s all.
