Zaher Alchihabi completed his studies in theater at the drama school in his hometown of Aleppo, Syria. His self-produced short film Self Dialog was chosen as one of the three best applications to study film directing at the European University in Damascus, granting him a scholarship. As a result of the Syrian civil war, his school building was destroyed and he decided to flee to Europe in early 2015. Today he belongs to the team of the organization Zuflucht Kultur e.V. He is currently performing the role of Arbace in the opera Idomeneo, co-directing the accompanying film documentation and working on his own short film.
